Kirk J. Simoneaux, P.E., Senior Mechanical Engineer
Kirk Simoneaux has extensive experience in mechanical building systems design and construction support for HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from LSU in 1977 and became a licensed engineer in Louisiana in 1981.
He has been with AST since 1980 and became a partner in the firm in 1990. His experience includes detailed design for energy management systems and retrofits for total energy savings. In addition, Mr. Simoneaux has developed and produced specifications for various types of mechanical systems. His project management experience ranges from initial contact with the client through project completion and occupancy.
Mr. Simoneaux has also managed many mechanical systems retrofit projects which were implemented to replace outdated equipment with newer, more efficient technology. He has also successfully designed multiple central chilled water cooling plants and distribution systems. He is currently a member of the American Institute of Architects, American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers, Association of Energy Engineers, Consulting Engineers Council, and the Louisiana Engineering Society.
Christopher G. Tauzin, P.E., Senior Mechanical Engineer
Christopher Tauzin is highly experienced in design, specification and administration of complete mechanical systems in commercial buildings, industrial buildings, educational institutions, medical institutions and research facilities. He graduated from Nicholls State University with a B.S. in Engineering Technology and earned his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1981 from LSU. Mr. Tauzin became a licensed engineer in 1986 and has been with AST for over 32 years, rising to partner in 1990. Mr. Tauzin also has experience with installation of residential and light commercial heating and air conditioning systems.
